Family Wholeness is Sophia Dykstra, LPC, NCC, CAADC.
I’ve been around and I’ve done a lot of stuff. I even spent a year in jail (as a counselor) and in a federal prison halfway house (also as a counselor). Those were wonderful experiences that I treasure, but my real heart is with the family.
Family is the basis of our society, and the health of the family matches the health of the world. Happy families make a happy world! It’s incredible to see families transform, laugh, and love being together. Even if you think your marriage or family life is kinda crappy now, or you feel like you’ve gone bonkers yourself, it can get better.
I love therapy. People have described me as taking a “real” approach and I try not to be overly serious. However, I am serious about the business of helping people heal. Not just cope with problems.
I live in Grand Rapids with my husband, daughter, and elderly cat. We’re real people who are working to stay on Team Family just like you. I nerd out on gardening, eating vegetables, and the Enneagram (let me know if you want to use it in our sessions).
If you’re interested, you can read about my experience, education, licenses, and resume type stuff below. If not, here’s a few clips of me talking to the local news:
